SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The State/Federal Disaster Recovery Center in Santa Rosa will convert to a U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Outreach Center. The center will continue to operate at the Press Democrat Building beginning Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at 9 a.m.
“At this stage of the recovery process, the emphasis for assistance is to meet the long-term needs of businesses and individuals that were impacted by the wildfires that occurred Oct. 8-31, 2017,” said Tanya N. Garfield, Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center‑West. “We believe the transition of the Santa Rosa Disaster Recovery Center to an SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center will better meet the current needs of Sonoma County residents.”
“SBA customer service representatives will continue to answer questions, explain the application process, help small businesses apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan and close their approved disaster loans,” Garfield continued. The DLOC will be open on the days and times indicated. No appointment is necessary.

Even though the deadline to apply for a loan for property damage has passed, small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations of any size still have until July 12, 2018, to apply for an economic injury disaster loan to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. Economic injury assistance is available to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred, regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.
Interest rates are 3.305 percent for businesses and 2.5 percent for private nonprofit organizations with terms up to 30 years. Loan amounts and terms are set by SBA and are based on each applicant’s financial condition.
