A message from our Clerk-Recorder-Assessor and Registrar of Voters

Posted on October 18, 2017

Dear Fellow Sonoma County Residents,

The lives lost, the destruction of so many homes and businesses, and the tragic change to our beloved Sonoma County have been absolutely devastating. Our hearts go out to all affected by this disaster. We too have suffered great loses and our staff share this heart-wrenching pain with you.

Please know that the Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor and Registrar of Voters office will do everything we can to help you during this difficult time. We can help replace birth, death and marriage certificatesdeeds, and other important recorded documents.

Our office is also working diligently to reassess Sonoma County properties damaged or destroyed by the fires, and assisting property owners with disaster relief filings to ease their property tax burden.

Our offices have been under mandatory evacuation, but we are being allowed back into our offices starting this Wednesday and will be open at 8:00 am to resume normal business operations.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have been working so hard to protect our homes, and thank you to our wonderful community who have opened their homes, wallets, and businesses to those in need. Together we will rebuild our homes and our community.

William F.Rousseau
Clerk-Recorder-Assessor and Registrar of Voters
