Evacuation and Disaster Planning for those Requiring Special Assistance

Senior Advocacy Services and Sonoma County IHSS Public Authority are offering a training for caregivers and first responders to learn about “Evacuation and Disaster Planning for those Requiring Special Assistance”.  This training will be held on Thursday, August 29, 9am-11am, at the Sonoma County Adult and Aging Office (3725 Westwind Blvd., Santa Rosa – Emerald Room).  The trainer, Inspector Debbie Vanek, from the San Ramon Fire Department has been providing similar emergency preparedness and response trainings throughout the Bay Area for the past 10 years.

The target audience for this training include:

  • Caregivers who work in residential or congregate living homes
  • Caregivers who work one-on-one with persons with disabilities and seniors in their homes
  • First responders who may need to assist a disabled or elderly person
