Arbor Day Tree Planting Project in Santa Rosa

AprApril 21 2018

7:30am - 12:30pm

California Urban Forests Council is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation and the Fountaingrove ll Open Space Management District to plant hundreds of trees in a hard hit area of Fountaingrove where more than 90 percent of the landscape was damaged by the October fires. Volunteers are needed to help plant the trees and shrubs on Saturday, April 21.

All the trees and shrubs planted will be California natives. They will help re-establish the natural habitat lost during the fires, help with erosion control, and create a scenic treasure that will benefit not only the residents of the Fountaingrove ll community, but provide pleasant scenery for the thousands of commuters who utilize Fountaingrove Parkway during their daily commute.

Volunteers are urged to wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes (no sandals or open toes), bring a hat and use sunscreen.

Light breakfast snacks and beverages will be served along with lunch at the end of the planting event.

Registration is limited to 75 volunteers. The parking location will be shared when you register.
